Randy Osteen is Vice President for Applications, Information Management at CHRISTUS Health. Randy has 39 years of experience in healthcare, with 13 years in practice as a registered nurse and 26 years in health information technology. Prior to work at CHRISTUS he was involved in early development of the Cerner patient care applications as Director of Clinical Systems with INTEGRIS Health, a not-for-profit integrated delivery system based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Randy began work with CHRISTUS Health in 2001 as Director of Research and Development, where he established the Project Management Office (PMO), developed processes and procedures for new/innovative technology development and acquisition, and led technology rationalization processes focused on reducing systems complexity and improving information technology service to the organization.
In his current role he and his teams have focused on strengthening the organization’s use of technologies to enhance clinical quality across the continuum, with increasing deployment and integration of technologies among acute, non-acute, community and payer environments. This body of work has included establishment of Health Data Integration and Population Health Management technologies, linked to traditional EMRs and other systems to provide clinicians with access to broad sets of data to improve care management of individuals and high-risk populations.
