Sys Vp-Enterp Analytcs-Trnsfrm, Clinical Analytics
Catholic Health Initiatives
Dr. Reichert is vice president of clinical analytics for Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems. In his role, he has implemented the enterprise-wide use of data analytics to identify and improve clinical quality, operational efficiency and financial stewardship across CHI’s 99 hospitals and hundreds of other care sites.
He developed and now oversees a clinical-quality reporting standard across the CHI enterprise that has resulted in a reduction in mortality, hospital-acquired infections and patient harm. The reporting standard across 18 states also has been instrumental in decreasing variance in clinical outcomes and overall cost.
Dr. Reichert joined CHI in March 2013 from Alegent Creighton Health, Omaha, Neb., where he led a multi-team effort to successfully develop the infrastructure to enable a “team care” approach to population health. He also served as the chief medical information officer for Alegent Health Clinic, overseeing the implementation of an electronic medical-records system for a multi-specialty clinic with more than 250 providers.
A board-certified family physician, Dr. Reichert graduated in 1992 from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Hershey, Pa., and practiced part time while working in informatics over the past 20 years. He received a doctor of philosophy in medical informatics from the University of Utah in 2004.
